We started our day packing up our campsite and then going to breakfast at the Pony Island restaurant and then a walk to see the Ocracoke lighthouse. We went back to the campsite and got ready to head out to the ferry terminal. We decided to park the motorcycle by the ferry terminal and walk around town for a while. After checking out some of the shops, we headed back to the ferry terminal and checked in parked the motorcycle in line. They headed us to the front of the line so they could board the motorcycles first. Met up with Ricky and Julia to say hello and then talk to the couple in front of us who were a motorcycle as well. There was a lot of campers ready to be loaded on the ferry as well. Once we boarded the ferry it was a 2-hour and 20 minute 23 mile ride to cedar Island. The water was a little rough but not terrible. Jeff and I had our lunch in the passenger lounge we made sandwiches. Hung out in the passenger lounge for a little bit then went back outside and eventually up to the top deck and sat out in the sun for awhile. Once we arrived at cedar Island, we basically got off the ferry turned left right into the office of the Cedar Island Ranch to check in for our hotel. They really aren't much food options here so we had to run down the road to a small grocery store and grab a few things to put in our microwave in our room so it was hot pockets for dinner tonight. The weather was pretty windy. We decided we were going to try to walk up to the beach but the wind was blowing so hard that some other people recommended we didn't in less we were wearing long pants. The room itself was pretty nice. The DirecTV was out so we couldn't watch TV. We tried connecting to the Wi-Fi to stream but the Wi-Fi wasn't set up to allow streaming so it was kind of a quiet night. Cedar Island is pretty isolated so there's not much to do if the sun's not shining and you can't really walk around. The one nice thing that they do have there is you can book horseback riding on the beach. But as a recommendation you take the ferry to Cedar Island. I would just keep going. It wasn't what we thought it was going to be. But since we had already prepaid the room we would of lost our money if we cancelled.

Just Winging it
We love winging across the country on our Honda Gold Wing. Enjoy the ride.
Our names are Jeff and Judy Keller, we reside in Southern Lancaster County in Pennsylvania. We purchased our 2001 Honda Goldwing GL1800 in January 2014 on Craigslist. We have begun riding almost every day and WE LOVE IT! Since we are loving what we are doing we decided to start this Blog to document our journeys for others to enjoy along with us.
