We escaped the hail last night. They were calling for penny size hail. Everyone moved their bikes to cover the skies were eerie and yellow but it missed us. There was hail in the area that caused some damage but we are thankful it avoided us. We left Wall, SD at 6:30 am the temperature was 72 degrees as we head into the Badlands. Just as we were waiting to get into the gate at the Badlands I realized a call from the hotel that I had left my purse at the hotel. Jeff and I turned around to go back and get it. Thank goodnmess for honest people. The wind this morning was strong and gusty over the plains we drove in the wind for a few hours. We stopped at Mitchell, SD to see the Corn Palace, get lunch and avoid yet another hail storm this one with Quarter size hail and 70 mph gusts. We chased the storm and ended up in Albert Lea, Minnesota for the night. We drove 507 miles today. To date we have traveled 5120.
