This morning we got up at 7 am and started getting ready to leave for Gillette to meet up with the rest of our group from home. First we ate a few yogurts in our cooler to hold us over until we could stop for breakfast. We had a nice conversation with the two couples we met beside us. Packed up our gear and headed to the car wash across from the campground to wash off the motorcycle and trailer, Before we left we applied sunscreen and headed down the road. Along the way we somehow missed the exit for the road we wanted to take to Gillette, but just kept going (as we are winging it and we are never lost!!). There really is not a lot to see on the way to Gillette mostly fields, a few steers and antelope along the way. As we got closer to Gillette the terrain began to show a little green than the brown we had been seeing all morning. We rerouted our trip and moved on down the road. We stopped at The Country Store in Kaycee, Wy where we had biscuits and gravy for breakfast and bought some beef jerky for the road. We headed toward Gillette and arrived at about 12:45. We were able to check in at the Holiday Inn Express and waited for our group to arrive. We arrived about 2 hours before our group arrived. Once they arrived we went with Kim Stoner and Randy Graver to the Gillette Harley Davidson so they could have their oil changed in their motorcycles. We were there about 2 hours. It was the largest Harley Dealer I have ever seen. We were treated to ice cream and Water while being there. When the service on their bikes was done we headed back to the hotel in a hurry as the rain was heading towards us fast. Once back at the hotel we discovered there was a bunch of State Police at the hotel. As of right now we have no idea why they are here. We plan to head to Devils Tower tomorrow, Spear Fish Canyon and hopefully Deadwood too. It will somewhat depend on the weather tomorrow. Stay tuned and see what happens.
Total-coming soon
