After weathering a bad thunderstorm last night in a tent and getting sand in our tent from the storm blowing the sand around we got up this morning at sunrise and took some great sunrise pictures
and headed out for my brothers home in Pleasant Grove, Utah. We packed up our campsite and headed out at 7 am.
Along the way we stopped at Tamarisk Restaurant in Green River, UT. The restaurant was on the Green River and we got a table overlooking the river.
After breakfast we headed back towards our route but stopped at a car wash to wash all the sand off the motorcycle and trailer. We stopped at a pull off in Carbon County and saw the coal mine operation in the distance. We arrived in Pleasant Grove Utah at about 11 am. Before getting to my brother Carson’s house we stopped at Auto Zone to get oil and a filter for the motorcycle so that Jeff could change the oil.
Once we arrived at the house we said our hellos to everyone including my mother who was also here for a visit, and sat down to relax and visit for a while. Jeff made fast friends with Dean the dog of the house.
I did a load of laundry and Jeff took Nathan for a ride on the motorcycle. We went to American Fork Canyon, and hiked on the Timpooneke Trail for a bit but a thunderstorm kicked up and we started getting wet from the rain and a bit of hail so we headed back to the car then drove to Tibble Fork Lake.
After the lake we went to Costa Vida for dinner the food was excellent and we enjoyed a drink called Horchota which is a Cinnamon Rice Milk. It was delicious! Now we are back at the house relaxing and visiting.
